With increase in road traffic accidents and industrial injuries – in addition to fractures, soft tissue and skin loss takes a big toll on the patients. Skin and soft tissue injuries are well managed here with proper debridement, vacuum assisted closure, skin grafts and flap coverage. Aimed at giving cosmesis to the maximum, it tries to bring the individual to the pre injured state.
In elderly patients, pressure sores – When developed add to morbidity. Pressure sores, commonly called as bed sores are managed with proper debridement and closure techniques
Nerve repair and tendon repair are done primarily or with nerve grafting techniques.
Burns – fire/ moist are managed with systemic support and conservative wound management / skin grafting.
